The Annexe

At this superb Tunbridge Wells bed & breakfast, rates start at £75 for a double room with ensuite shower and a cooked traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or slimmers' breakfast. There is one free offroad parking space and you can enjoy an evening meal here if you wish (scroll down for details).

We include treats that are rarely on offer in guest accommodation to make sure you get the best out of your stay:

  • Complimentary pot of tea with home made cakes on arrival
  • In your room you will find TV listings, tealights, fresh fruit, bottled water, sweets, home-made cakes and The Lancers' guide to eating, shopping and pampering in Tunbridge Wells, together with information on exploring nearby attractions, including a map
  • The oriental dining room will be exclusively yours so you can enjoy your breakfast in privacy with our undivided attention
  • The Times (or Sunday Times) daily newspaper is provided at breakfast
  • Table service so you don't need to fetch your fruit juice or cereals from a buffet
  • All hot items are cooked especially for you so taste their best
  • The bread is home-made and the meat and eggs are free range and locally sourced
  • We offer free loan of a laptop so you can access the internet, or you can use our wireless connection with your own laptop

Our terms

Your booking at this bed & breakfast is guaranteed when we take your card details and the first night is a non-refundable deposit. On departure, you can pay the remainder (if you are staying for more than one night) by cash, cheque or debit card; if you wish to pay by credit card we pass on the bank charge of 2%. We don't take American Express.

In the event that you need to cancel a booking at The Lancers, please give at least two weeks notice, otherwise we reserve the right to charge for the duration of your stay unless we are able to relet the room. We recommend you take out insurance against unforeseen cancellation.

Check-in at the bed & breakfast is 2-6pm, and checkout is by 11am unless otherwise agreed.

Eating at The Lancers

We are within just a few minutes' stroll of the many wonderful restaurants that Tunbridge Wells is famous for, but if you prefer to eat in, please let us know in advance so we can buy the fresh ingredients. All dishes for the three-course menu are home-made and the mains are for two to share. Bring your own bottle of wine (available from The Secret Cellar, opposite). Dinner is served from 6 or 7pm in the oriental dining room.
